'The Wilderness': Worth Preserving!?!

Partially hidden behind its overgrown, deteriorating streetscapes on both King and Regent Streets in Old Town Niagara, lies a remarkable nearly five-acre parcel of land known loveingly as 'The Winderness!' Respectfully gifted by the Chiefs of the Six Nations to the settler Claus family in 1799, this still-intact property is unique for its natural, Indigenous, military, political, architectural and horticultural history.  Please join Richard Merritt as he reveals the remarkable saga of this extraordinary remnant of our natural and built heritage and why surely it is worth preserving...before it is too late!

Admission is free for Museum members or $10 for non-members.
Registration is required as space is limited. Call 905-468-3912 to register.
