Historical Walking Tours of
Niagara-on-the-Lake
Niagara-on-the-Lake is Ontario’s only National Historic District. Let us tell you why it is so important to Canada’s story! Discover the beauty of Niagara-on-the-Lake with a guided tour of the town and explore the history, architecture and events of Niagara with us.
When:
JUNE to AUGUST - Monday, Thursday and Friday at 3 pm
JUNE to SEPTEMBER - Saturday and Sunday at 11 am
Where: Tours begin near the gazebo in Queen’s Royal Park (end of King Street) and end at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum. Tours are 1-1.5 hours in length.
Cost: Tickets are $15 (includes museum admission).

Bike Tours of Niagara-on-the-Lake
Our 10 km tour stops at significant sites, including The Commons, Navy Hall, the Dock Area, and Fort Mississauga, giving participants an overview of the Town ‘s early history.
This is a medium challenge bike ride. Participants are responsible for bringing their own bicycles and helmets. Please dress appropriately and bring plenty of water. This ride runs rain or shine.
When: Second Sunday of the Month from May - October | 10:30 am-12:30 pm:

Where: Tours begin and end at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum, 43 Castlereagh Street. Tours are 2 hours in length.
Cost: Tickets are $15 ($12 for members and $10 for enhanced members).

History Bites Tour
Taste local fare, as you walk, talk, and learn with NOTL Museum’s History Bites tour. Join Museum guides as they lead you through the heritage district of Niagara-on-the-Lake, exploring local landmarks, and discovering tales of intrigue and mystery, mixed with a healthy dose of historical fact, fun, and scandal.
Participants will enjoy stops for food and drinks at three of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s popular culinary businesses. They will receive a classic gourmet chimney cake at Budapest Bakeshop, fresh, locally-sourced cold pressed juice samples from Niagara Juice Co., and the final stop of the tour is at The Exchange Brewery where guests will enjoy beer flights along with shared brie and kettle chip appetizers. Participants will also all receive one mini jar of preserves from the historic Greaves Jams & Marmalades.

Where: Tours start at the entrance to Simcoe Park, at the corner of King and Queen Streets.
Cost: $60 per person. All food, drinks, taxes, and gratuities included.

Private Tour Groups
Take a stroll with a tour group, your friends, or bring your history, tourism or geography students to walk in the footsteps of our past. For private groups we are able to cater our walking tours to your groups’ wants and needs. If you are most interested in aspects of the War of 1812, for example, we can arrange to have our tour guides put emphasis on this topic. We are also able to vary the length or distance of your tour depending on the audience, and we can start and end the tour at various locations depending on your itinerary..
If walking the town does not interest your group, tours of the Museum can also be arranged. Guided by the Museum’s Curator, the group tour gives a much more in depth look into our collection and the history of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The Museum features a permanent gallery which explores a chronological history of Niagara-on-the-Lake, as well as temporary exhibits..
COST:
- Museum Tour: Adults $10, Students $5
- Town Tour: Adults $15, Students $5
- History Bites: $60 per person
- Bike Tour: $15 per person
NOTE:
- Groups must book at least two weeks in advance
- There is a $100 minimum charge for town tours & bike tours, and a minimum charge of $50 for Museum tours
- There is a minimum of 10 participants for the History Bites tour
- 10% discount for groups of 40 or more
- Tour groups can also arrange to have both a Museum and a town tour
- At least 48 hours notice must be given for cancellation
- Tour operators and escorts will be given free admission
- Bus drop off only in front of the Museum. Buses must park at Fort George

ST. DAVIDS WALKING TOUR
Enjoy a self-guided walking tour of St. Davids provided by the St. David's Heritage Committee. This was created for the 200th Anniversary of the Burning of St. Davids events held on July 19th, 2014.
