JANUARY 24: The Art of Portraiture presented by Debra Antoncic
The impulse to capture a likeness of an individual has a long history, one that dates back thousands of years. A portrait, however, is much more than a simple visual representation. A portrait can convey personality, status, wealth and a host of other details. In this session, join art historian and curator Debra Antoncic for a look at the history of portraiture.
Debra Antoncic is the Director/Curator of RiverBrink Art Museum. An art historian and curator, Dr. Antoncic has curated numerous exhibitions of historical and contemporary art. She holds a PhD in art history from Queen’s University and a combined Master of Arts and Curatorial Diploma from York University with a specialty in post-war Canadian art and visual culture.
