The Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum’s annual Heritage Garden Party celebrates the social and recreational history of this historic community and highlights the significant people and homes that make the town unique. The event takes place on the grounds of one of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s beautiful historic properties, and features fine food and drink from our sponsors, both live and silent auctions, entertainment, and special costumed guests to bring us back to an era of the home’s past.

83 Gage Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake:  This large Georgian house occupies an entire 1-acre lot, first surveyed in 1791. The original landowner was William Claus, Deputy Superintendent for Indians Affairs, (1796-1826), and a key figure in British/Indigenous diplomacy. His son, John Johnson Claus, inherited the property and likely built the current house around 1830. The house has a rich and storied history, representing much of Niagara’s unique heritage. Today it is owned by long-time Niagara residents Peter Howe and Judy McLeod, and its original architecture and pristine gardens will make this a stunning venue for the NOTL Museum’s Heritage Garden Party this year.

Food and refreshments provided by Niagara's Finest Hotels, Konzelmann Estate Winery, and Niagara College.

Dress: Garden party attire; hats encouraged. Sensible shoes recommended.

This is a rain or shine event.
